Tour
Watch our master brewers in action! Join one of our guides on an educational and highly entertaining journey through the world of ERDINGER Weissbier. How is it brewed, what happens in the bottling plant and why is the high-rack warehouse so cool? Our experts at the Visitor Center know the brewery inside out and can answer (almost) all your questions.
After the tour, you can experience the full range of wheat beers from Erding with a traditional Bavarian snack in our cozy Visitor Center – with wheat beer, white sausages and pretzels (two per person).
Including the snack, the whole tour lasts about three hours. Groups of 10 or more will receive a free souvenir photo of the group in the brewhouse.
We offer tours in German, English and Italian. Our video films are available in German, English, Italian, Spanish and French.
There are a large number of steps along the route (about 260). Unfortunately, the tour is not therefore suitable for people with mobility problems or wheelchair users.

Raw materials
Water, malt, hops and yeast – that’s all our brewmasters need. Experts have calculated that there are over a million ways to brew beer in accordance with the German Purity Law. One of them – and an incomparably good one – is the recipe for our famous beer ERDINGER Weissbier with Fine Yeast. But shhhh…. it’s a valuable and carefully guarded secret.
Brewhouse
The heart of our brewery. Crushed malt is mixed with our brewing water in the mash copper and then heated. The malt sugar is dissolved. The resulting first wort is separated from the undissolved malt parts in the lauter tun and then boiled in the brew kettle together with the hops.
Fermentation cellar
The fermentation cellar is where the special yeast of ERDINGER Weissbräu is added to the wort. This brewing yeast transforms the malt sugar of the original wort into alcohol and carbon dioxide. The main fermentation takes about a week. The wheat beer yeast in the fermentation tank rises to the top – hence the name “top-fermenting”. The result: young or “green” beer!
Filter cellar
All impure sediment is removed from the young beer in the filtration cellar. For traditional bottle fermentation, we then add fresh wort and pure yeast.
Bottling plant
Plenty of action here: our modern bottling machines can fill up to 170,000 bottles per hour. First, the bottles are thoroughly cleaned. Broken, cracked or third-party bottles are removed by the bottle inspectors. The filled bottles are labeled, packed into boxes, and transported underground to the high-bay warehouse.
High-bay warehouse
A spectacular sight! 15 million bottles mature here for about four weeks on air-conditioned, meter-high shelves. This gives our wheat beer the finishing touch and its typical liveliness. Following rigorous quality control, the wheat beer bottles are finally released for sale.
Shipping
We are well-known for our fast and precise delivery! Every day, around 50 trucks loaded with 54,000 beer crates, i.e. about 1 million bottles, leave our warehouse. Thanks to a sophisticated logistics system, our beer reaches all wheat beer connoisseurs and retailers in perfect condition.
Tasting
Our short virtual tour of the brewery ends here. At the end of the real-life tour, we invite our guests to sample ERDINGER’s wheat beer specialties in our cozy Visitor Center.
Booking
Please note that it is essential to book your tour in advance.
Brewery tours are given for groups of at least 10 persons. Smaller groups are asked to join tours which have already been firmly scheduled. The maximum group size is 60 persons per tour. Subject to availability, different dates are possible for groups of 25 persons or more.
The meeting place for all visitors is the ERDINGER Fan Shop in Franz-Brombach Street (opposite the main gate).
If the Fan Shop is closed, please wait for the brewery tour guide in front of the Fan Shop.
Please note that depending on production circumstances, we cannot guarantee the bottling plant will be in operation at the time of the tour. The bottling process is explained in a film.
